Concepts is developing the Noise Terminator to be compatible
with all FRS/GMRS two-way radio systems. Currently, the Noise
Terminator is compatible with FRS/GMRS two-way radios that
take two pin (2.5mm + 3.5mm) plugs of standard width. This
will comprise both the two-step plugs as well as the three-step
plugs.
Compatible
models include
- Kenwood
(three-step), Midland (two-steps),
- ICOM
(two-step),
- Alinco
(two-step)
- and Standard (two-step) amongst other.
The
Noise Terminator is also compatible with Motorola Talkabouts
that uses one-pin plugs. As yet, the Noise Terminator
is not compatible with the narrow two pin Motorola Professional
Series.
While
an effective means of communications for motorcycle rides,
FRS Two-Way radios suffer from excessive background noise.
The location of the microphones on the radios means that environmental
sounds will be picked up along with the speaker's voice. The
use of hands free headsets does not solve this problem. The
Noise Terminator, on the other hand, picks up the voice signals
from the vibrations in the users' necks, rather than from
the air. The result is clear communication direct from the
throat to the microphone without the utilization of air as
a medium of conduction By using the Noise Terminator in conjunction
with FRS Two-Way radios, users will be able to enjoy conversation
with 'zero background noise'.
